On October 23rd, 60 Minutes produced a segment outlining the
huge strides many autistic children are taking by using Apple's iPad to communicate and learn. The easy-to-use touch and swipe screen is opening up a new world that so many kids were locked out of. One teacher who was interviewed in the segment had, at one time, believed that a certain autistic student of his possessed the I.Q. and attention span of a toddler. But by leveraging a special autism app on the iPad, the teacher was amazed to find there was
much more inside his student than he ever would have imagined. View The CBS
iPad Autism Video. The iPad app is not the only application teachers and parents are excited about. Here is a list of ten
autism apps that are helping many other children. Additionally, here you'll find
iPad counseling story books used by therapists to help young children learn about, and overcome, a variety of emotional, behavioral and social challenges. We'd appreciate learning about any similar applications and tools you may know of.
